Wins are worthless? Lol
As opposed to what? Strikeouts? Funny. You simply know nothing about the game.

Would you rather have a pitcher that strikes out the side but gave up 3 runs in an inning or a pitcher who that retired the side in order but struck out only one batter? Stupid argument.

And whip has limitations. For instance, Jon Lester is horrible at holding runners on so his ERA is mediocre even though his whip is solid. Also, ould you rather give up a 2 out homer or 2 out walk? According to whip those are the same thing. According to w/l record and ERA they are not. Whip is a good statistic but has flaws. Some pitchers may be good at getting out of jams, some not. Whip would reflect them as the same even though they are not.

Also, Kershaw and Greinke pitch at pitcher friendly Dodger Stadium. This automatically lowers their ERA by almost a half run. What are their ERAs home as opposed to away? Now what is Arrieta's ERA away from hitter friendly Wrigley Field? That's what I thought.

In his last 14 starts Arrieta is 11-1 with 1.07 ERA. Wins and secondarily ERA are the only stats with real significance. You show me any 14 game consecutive start stretch where Greinke or Kershaw have put up numbers like that without the advantage of Dodger Stadium (i.e. road starts). Ever. It doesn't exist. Let alone being the most 14 recent starts.

Kershaw and Greinke are really good. Arrieta, however, is the best in the game RIGHT NOW. This year. I am making reference to nothing other than 2015.

You are now dismissed.
