Yes, it is true. But haters put BYU into a no-win situation
Remember when BYU was criticized for being too public about Brandon Davies? Ute fans and the Tribune led the charge that BYU was throwing their own under the bus. So Tom Holmoe changed policy and announced that discipline would be in house. Now many Utah fans and, of course, the Tribune think BYU is doing the wrong thing by punishing behind closed doors.

An honest Utah fan will admit that BYU is the last school to not punish. BYU has a litany of former players who were punished for all sorts of things. A number of them were punished at times or in ways that it harmed the team in ways that would never happen at other schools. Think Davies. Think Unga. Think Jenkins. If BYU is consistently willing to lay down the law to its own on-field detriment, why would they let guys like Nacua, who aren't stars, off easy? These suspensions should be easy no-brainers, right? Or maybe BYU has put certain players through discipline that isn't being publicly disclosed.

What it comes down to (and this goes for some of us BYU fans when the roles are reversed) is that certain Utah fans want BYU's chances on Saturday to be as bad as possible. It has nothing to do with right and wrong. It has everything to do with wanting BYU to lose.

And like you said, we at CB are sometimes guilty of this too.
