I understand there is a lot more to it than this, but suspending people for the first game of the year is going to all but guarantee that ABC is going to cue the bowl footage from last year and show Nacua throwing cheap shot haymakers and everyone brawling as a point of interest. No mention will be made of Memphis starting the whole thing. No context will be given for Nacua's punches. All that the entire nation will see is a bunch of Mormons brawling.
We've all moved on. Nobody remembers it anymore. Normally I'd say a game suspension is probably warranted if there were a game immediately following the fight. Nacua and the rest have had 9 months to put this behind them and learn from it. There are PLENTY of things that could be done to discipline them over the offseason. Suspensions for Nebraska however will do more harm than good IMO--both for the players and BYU and the church.
