Recap (w/clips) of the notable plays of LaVell’s final win at Utah in 2000:

A 33 FG and 2-yard TD run puts Utah with 6 points. BYU 26-20.
Steve Smith with a big punt return thanks in part to a block in the back or two by the Utes.

Doman sacked again to setup 3rd and long. Not looking good.
An near-fumble by Luke Staley on 3rd & 20 almost ends the game.
Pittman keeps BYU alive with a huge 34 yard catch
Insane sideline catch by Pittman puts BYU within 15 yards & 40 seconds left. Slow mo replay.
Doman's game-winning TD run. (Notice #94 Tevita Ofahengaue with the nod & throat-slash before the snap.) Endzone angle replay
2 pt-conversion catch by Soren Halladay.

Thoughts:
-From the crowd shots & noise, the pro-BYU crowd was very substantial and just plain awesome.

-Pittman and Doman played out of their minds. Doman took a beating all game but still managed to pull that game-winning drive out of nowhere.

-BYU was very fortunate to get beneficial (& correct IMO) calls from the refs in the 4th. If the refs call the Pittman catch out of bounds or the Staley drop a fumble, game over. (No video review in 2000 remember.)

-Pochman was automatic from pretty much anywhere on the field. (His bio says he leads BYU in all-time scoring, but Matt Payne is listed in the records page as having a single point more than Pochman.)

-It feels oh so good to beat the Utes and sucks we aren’t playing this year.
