Imagine what this team could have been without injuries.
Don't take this the wrong way. Every team deals with injuries during the season. I'm just thinking about how much better an already great team (at least statistically) could have been if the cards fell right.

Wainwright was lost early. What's that team ERA going to be without having as many spot starts from guys like Marco Gonzalez or Tim Cooney or Tyler Lyons?

Adams has missed most of the season. By himself, it's not a huge deal, but it forced Mark Reynolds into an everyday role instead of platooning. As a result, he's been over-exposed and his hitting stats have suffered.

The outfield has been wrecked with injuries too. Holliday has been out twice. Grichuk was coming on very strong before his injury. Jay has missed a large chunk of the season as well. There was a time where the entire Opening Day outfield was either on the DL or unavailable because of injury.

Holliday and Adams were arguably the two biggest power threats in the lineup and and have missed most of the season.

Long story short, both pitching and hitting could have been significantly better without key injuries.
