First off I am a huge BYU fan. I strap on the blue goggles and gulp from the blue Kool-Aid jug every year at this time. I hope for an undefeated season and my stomach is in knots right before every kick-off.....especially against season openers such as Nebraska.

That being said, it annoys me when I read things like "I fear Bronco is not up to the task of recruiting and preparing this team for higher level competition required by current schedules. I fear that Bronco/Anae are just not next level coaches. And that has me so bummed. So frustrated. So fearful. I don't want them gone. I want them to succeed. I just fear they aren't up to the task. And if so, maybe they should be gone?"

When are we going to understand that this is BYU...a church run organization, a religious school first and foremost, and a university that has the strictest honor code in the country, a football team filled with return missionaries that are either married or looking to be married, players with children, players with church callings, and a daunting school schedule. Not to mention how hard it must be to recruit a non-lds athlete to come to a Mormon school and sign an honor code in which they commit to have no facial hair, no pre marital sex, no drinking, etc. That in and of itself should spell disaster for a football program.

Yet, we have not only become a relevant football program but one that is respected and feared. So, to say that this coaching staff is not up to the task or ask if this coaching staff is not up to the task is ridiculous!! The fact that we can beat or compete with the likes of Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, Georgia Tech, Boise St, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, etc. is amazing!

So, based on the aforementioned reasons we should never question the ability or competency of the athletic department or coaching staff. What they do to put a competitive team on the field and how they prep these young men to play at the level they do year in and year out is nothing short of amazing.

I for one love this coaching staff. This football team will always represent something bigger than who they are when they cross the white lines and there's no one better in my opinion than to lead these men to battle on and off the field than Bronco!
