Ever considered that the traditional TE position is a vanishing commodity?
Blame Urban Meyer and the 2004 Utes, maybe even throw in Mike Leach and his Air Raid, but ever since then more and more teams at the high school level have abandoned offenses with traditional TE's.

Look around at the college level. The traditional TE is going the way of the traditional FB. It's hit us hard, but I don't think it's been from a lack of trying to recruit and develop guys at the position. We had so many who were athletically gifted who simply never grabbed the position for themselves, and now we've switched to an offense that really doesn't highlight a traditional TE. Hard to see the position making a huge comeback for BYU anytime soon.
