BYU and Nebraska sell by dates
BYU and Nebraska both peaked at football teams in the 20th century. For BYU it was the national championship team as the culmination of adding a good defense to a dominant passing game. For Nebraska it was adding a dominant secondary (Osborne did what he had to and recruited people that could play) and some passing game to dominant line play. The peak was the 1995 team which was one of, if not the best college football team of all time (the 1971 team is also in consideration.)

For you younger fans, the 1995 team was not only undefeated but it defeated 4 teams that were top 10 at the time AND finished in the top 10 by an average score of 49 to 18.25. This included a number 2 Florida team in the Fiesta Bowl 62-24. They also beat their rival Oklahoma 37-0. This is very nearly the same as their average score of 53 - 14 for all opponents.

I think the QB draw play in the following video at the 6:38 mark is among the most beautifully executed plays I have seen in college football in terms of blocking.

Yes, Nebraska is not what they used to be, but they used to be phenomenal. To us older folks if any BYU team beats any Nebraska team it will be a fine day.
