only 1...once my K expired i called and threatened to leave. i got my bill down
to $43 and change for top-120/DVR/HD/etc. ($30 something in alleged discounts...my bill was $70 something) i just upgraded to top-200 and they added $15 to my bill...so now it's $59. it's not an amazing deal but, at the time, it was pretty dang close to the deal new customers could get. they recently lowered it by an additional $10 for new customers so it's not quite the same. but i'm not in a contract so i can cancel anytime. in about 8 months my "discounts" expire so i'll have to go through the whole thing again.

you have to be nice but firm. when they offer free movie channels for 3 months "no thanks...i don't watch movies...i'd like to cancel please."

"ok...i am authorized to give you 'X'." "no thanks...please transfer me to someone who can cancel my deal...thanks."

keep doing this until they move 4-5 times. they will. they may even put you on hold to figure out what deal they can give you. don't give up.
