I worked for DI for years, they would love it if wealthy people shopped there
more often. Their primary mission is to provide services -- job training, ESL, etc. -- to people in the community. They raise money to do that by selling used merchandise. Actually providing used merchandise to low-income people is a secondary mission. If more people buy, the prices will go up and they'll be able to provide more free services to the community.
