2 separate rooms worked well. I would either get two connecting rooms (few and far between) or else wait a few more years.

The BEST part about cruising with kids, according to my wife, is that she has zero responsibility for meals, including planning, cooking, or cleaning up.

The best part for me was having my wife and kids all dressed up (a little) and eating fun meals together, with no worry as to cost, tips, what my kids ordered, etc. since it was all prepaid. My kids ordered fancy food from the adult menus and we had fun trying new things together.
