It's been a while, but I remember reading this while living in Nebraska:
1) There is at least one season ticket holder in every state in the union and many foreign countries
2) One fan, who lived in Boise, would travel all the way to Lincoln in his car on weekends and drive home after the games. One night, while heading back through the dead of Wyoming at 2 a.m., doing about 110 mph, the man notices a cop suddenly alongside him in the other lane. The dude is totally busted. The cop is looking at him, so, not knowing what to do, the guy just waves. Cop just waves back and speeds off ahead of him.
It really is a great fan base. Hope they treat the Cougars well despite having their home opener win streak snapped a few hours.
