I have no interest in actually belonging to a G5 conference, though.
If I were scheduling for BYU football, I would try to get one game with an upper tier P5 team, and one game with a mid-tier P5 team in the first two weeks in September. Then, I would load the schedule with G5 teams from across the country until November. Then, I'd try to get a nice "neutral site" game with another mid-tier P5 school towards the end of the season so we have the opportunity to finish with a flourish.
I think next year's schedule is way too ambitious for BYU. This season has demonstrated to me that we aren't deep enough to get through a schedule like that without being at half strength by mid-October.
