The last time BSU did that poorly in consecutive years was 96-98. For BYU that
was 02-05.
The BSU down years were the result of the following:
1. Coach Pokey Allen dying of cancer and first year moving up from 1-AA/FCS. (1996)
2. Coach Houston Nutt first and only year with a new coaching staff (1997)
3. Coach Dirk Koetter's first year, again with a new staff. (1998)
Since then we've had Koetter/Hawkins/Petersen/Harsin and our worst seasons were 8-4 (Hawk's first) and 8-5 (Pete's last).
