I know. I squarely blame Gettysburg for me wasting tens of thousands of dollars
on a History degree. I became a civil war junkie after I watched that movie with my dad. And then my interests expanded to other areas.

Had someone once tell me, that Henry Eyring told her, that students "should major in what they think about in free time." For me, I frequently think about history and anthropology. I followed her advice (which I assumed would be HBE's advice to me), and switched my degree path from Physics to History. In doing so I both ignored the advice of a friend who advised me, "to major in something in Science or engineering", and the advice of my misison president who said, I "should major in business."

Oh well, my life is great. I just think the science undergrad would have opened a lot more doors upon graduation than my history degree.
