I wonder if the guy (who obviously thinks fast) was sitting there in the hospital being interviewed by the AP and thought, "I'm not going to be a target like the dentist who shot Cecil the Lion." Maybe he really believed a grizzly twice his size standing on top of him roaring was as scared as he was or maybe he threw that bit in for street cred. Whatever the case, it was brilliant. Not too often you see readers of SF Gate cheering on a hunter.
