This is regularly referred to "the body blow" theory in the NFL. I don't know what the exact percentage is, but when teams in the NFL have to travel long distances their record is poor. Same goes when teams play a strong opponent the week before...

That said, no excuse for coming out of the gate completely flat. If we faded as the game wore on that would have made more sense, but it obviously didn't pan out like that.
