I was talking to a couple of senior managers from other companies about hiring college students and recent news about student activists (link above isn't directly related, but captures the essence). They both had recent stories about hiring overly entitled whiners and the resulting HR issues, and are now leery of hiring new college grads. They're disappointed because until recently they were enthusiastic about recent grads because of their tech savvy and can-do attitudes.
So, are current BYU students aware of the negative image employers have about college student attitudes? I'll be curious to see if new questions are added to the interview list to try to ferret out issues with entitlement and social justice warrior impulses. (Front-line managers will have to create these questions themselves, since HR won't agree with them.)
