Networking question for the computer geeks
I am testing my network connections after running cat5e to a utility closet. The first cable terminates with an rj45 on the one end which I plug into my tester. On the other end it terminates to my patch panel. I have to use another Ethernet cable to plug into the patch panel which then plugs into the tester.

The tester says crossover. Do I need to use a crossover cable plugged into my patch panel? I've double checked all the wiring connections and they seem to be in the right order on both ends.
