Much depends on how the program defines itself and what its goals are
In fairness, we scheduled aggressively and had two devastating injuries/players deciding to sit out to start the year. Our opposition didn't turn out to be as tough as we'd thought, but if you spotted most fans "No Taysom, no Jamaal" at year's beginning, I think they'd have grabbed 8-4 if offered.

I don't think you can fire Bronco off of this season alone, win or lose in Logan.

What has been very evident is that we've been mediocre since 2010 and don't show tremendous signs of getting better. One could argue that next year, we look very deep and talented in areas, and we do. But a historically suicidal schedule will dole out some losses even if we do show a significant improvement on the field. If we don't get better, next year will be ugly.

The question is how cool is the BYU BoT and a majority of fans with a decent program that keeps its nose clean better than pretty much everyone else? To me, it looks like the answer is that a majority in both places are A O.K. with that, and accordingly, Bronco will go nowhere with those two things in tact until he decides to bolt of his own volition.

If we really think we're a Top 25 program with capabilities of making a serious run at the top levels of college football, then we should have figured out a while ago we were heading in the wrong direction.
