Tanner's progression
I don't pretend to be a college football expert and I believe QB is the toughest job in all sports. With that said - I thought Tanner would be further along at this point in the season. His numbers looked good against Utah states; however, I think the receivers are the ones that made him look good. Tons of throws off of his back foot that were only caught because we have big and athletic receivers. He also never steps up in the pockets and rolls right every single time. He seems to leave the pocket pretty early as well. If I was inside receiver I would be frustrated because Colby Pearson and Terren Houk we're open all night, but they seem to be invisible to Tanner because he doesn't make many reads yet.

Understand that I believe Tanner will go down as one of the all-time great quarterback to BYU and will make a run at breaking all of the passing records. I just don't think he's gotten better since early in the season.
