I'll add that a lot of gun shop/ranges will let you rent guns. I would try a
Glock with the wife to make sure it's what you guys want. Sometimes a gun just doesn't feel right in your hand, while others may love it.
If the Glock doesn't work out, there are other great guns. Try a VP9 or an XD if one of you don't like the Glock.
