The schedules have been getting better.
The only reason this year's SOS wasn't in the 40s or even the 30s is because Nebraska, UCLA, BSU, Cinci, USU, E.Carolina and especially Missouri had much worse years than expected.
Indy schedules are much better, but they lack the 'buffer' of a conference in which most of your opponents play each other. Accordingly, the SOS can and will fluctuate wildly.
