the point of the OP was an item for a TRUE freshman. The term "true freshman" is not accurate in regard to Tanner.

True freshmen were in HS a few months prior to playing in their FIRST year of college. Tanner graduated form HS, THEN came to BYU, enrolled in less than 12 units at least fall semester. THEN practiced with the team during spring ball (his 2nd semester of college), played in the spring game, then left on a 2 year mission. He is now in his THIRD semester of college.

Playing fantastic. But I don't believe he is a TRUE freshman. So sue me.
