I am moving to 1099 contractor in my field, do I need to set up an LLC?
I am moving over to contract side and have an offer as a 1099 rather than w-2. The contract with this company will be sent to me in the coming weeks. For those doing contract work, do you have an LLC? Is it required to have an LLC if you are doing independent contracting, 1099? If it isn't required, do you recommend and why?

I am simply trading in the stability for double the $$ but 1-2 year contracts at a time. I am single, no kids and can take the risk at this time in my life. I have no worries about rejoining a company and becoming w-2 if this doesn't work out in a few years.

Thanks in advance!
