Contract Clinical Research
A mid sized pharmaceutical company is contracting me to run their clinical trial. I will travel to clinics on West Coast that are doing the study, so most of my expenses will be flights, car rentals, hotels which they agreed to reimburse me. I work from home so no office to lease, no employees. I will bill my hours and they will pay me as a 1099 employee. I understand I will have to pay my taxes, plus self employment taxes and pay quarterly rather than each paycheck.

The reason I am asking about LLC is I have a few colleagues who have it set up as an LLC. Also, a recruiting/staffing company I have worked with in the past as contract w-2 requires I set up an LLC if I ever want to use them in the future for a contract as a 1099 employee. Right now the contract I have set up is directly with the drug company as a 1099.
