We have seen a few threads now about Tanner and his instinct to throw the ball
deep and up for grabs.

I have a question for those that know football, or the QB position, better than I do. It seems we hear QBs say the game has slowed down for them. Taysom said before the season etc. Obviously that comes with time and experience and knowledge of the system you are in. So my question is this; Does this process of the game slowing down mean they see things more clear and in fact know where everyone is kind of before they are there, and due to this, they are able to make quick decisions and make those check down throws?

I love how Tanner has that confidence and instinct to look for the deep ball because we have benefited from that a lot this year. I don't want him to lose that when the game "slows down" and he knows his check downs and starts taking those. Obviously its a bit of a give and take. Some of those deep balls that were completed the WR was not open and a lot of QBs wouldn't make that throw. Tanner doesn't know better and chucks it up and we have seen what that's done for us.

On one hand you have a QB like Cody Kessler of USC where he never threw an Int last year but had a crazy good completion percentage. He never took that risk and checked down all the time. Is there a way and does Tanner possess the ability to do both? Ultimately I think that makes the "perfect" QB. One who isn't really afraid, but knows when he should check down. As someone who grew up playing WR, I loved a QB that would trust me to make a play and gave me the chance.
