From my wife's facebook post:
"3 years ago today was Evey's first Primary's admission following her stay in the U of U NICU. Those chubby thighs in those leg warmers! She loves that Daddy so much!
Progress Report for Everleigh: We have been overwhelmed with love and prayers, and they have been working. Everleigh bit her nurse yesterday morning as they were brushing her teeth. In the early afternoon, she opened her eyes, smiled, and proceeded to ravenously suck all of the seasoning off of a sour cream and onion potato chip before falling back to sleep. We cried years of joy. What an incredible blessing! All we wanted was to see those eyes and that smile one more time. She also has been coughing a lot, whereas before they couldn't get her to cough and clean out those lungs. However, with her body waking up a bit she has been in a lot of pain-she needs to pee off a lot of the fluid that has collected in her tissues and her little belly is super swollen from being neurologically unable to poop, so our little goal for today is to have an epic PICU code brown. We are by no means out of the woods yet, her lungs are still needing an incredible amount of support and her liver and pancreas are still not doing their jobs, but we have hope.
Thank you again for the meals, the visits, the little gifts, the prayers, and the words of encouragement. Little acts of faith are bringing big miracles! We love you dear friends.
