We've managed to blend together the cheap Mormon stereotype with the dumb/dirty yewt talk and a hint of academic superiority into one thread. It's too bad no one was able to work in a gross/net argument or blue/white shirts argument - could've had the ultimate CB thread.
I learned a lot from this thread. I learned that I am a terrible human being who has no class and should never consider a job in the service or sales industries. If I'm out with my kids and we see someone wearing Utah gear there is a 50% chance that I'm going to make a dumb comment. "You guys start behaving or I'm sending you home with those Utah fans!" "Watch out guys, there's one of those bad people over there." "Wow! What an ugly shirt/hat, your wife lets you outside looking like that?"
So far, I've never been attacked nor have I had any alcoholic beverages poured on me for my comments. 99% of the time the person laughs and makes a joke about BYU. Then we each go about our day without ever thinking about it again. I guess I've been doing the rivalry thing all wrong. I always thought this fun banter between fans was what made the rivalry. If we didn't make fun of each other about it, what makes it any different from every other game we play?
tl;dr - lighten up
