My thoughts on Peyton Manning and his retirement announcement
Peyton could teach clinics on how to win and lose with dignity and sportsmanship. Today's win was about the Broncos as a team, and if you want to be more specific, about the defense leading them to a SuperBowl win.

Peyton has known for sometime that he will retire after the SB, but he needed to keep the spotlight on the Broncos and their victory as much as possible. Unlike guys that make the entire season about them and their "last time to play in ....", or like Marshawn Lynch (what the heck was that), Peyton knew to do anything but defer such questions, would keep the spotlight on him and consequently not on the team.

Peyton will retire and will do so soon, but will do so with the same class he has always had. Today was about the Broncos

JMHO.
