Sitake has been quoted recently as saying he will be focused on getting his best 11 guys on the field and then building the defensive scheme around those guys. As I scan the prospective position groups, I see lots of good candidates for the "best 11" and good quality depth as well. I really think we'll see Tuiaki implement a hybrid system of both 4-3 and 3-4 looks:
DT's = Tuiloma (Sr) Tanielu (Jr) Mo'unga (So) Tausinga (Jr) Taliauli (Fr)
DE's = Laulile (Jr) Taele (Sr) Nacua (Fr) Kaumatule (So) Hinds (So) Dawe (Fr) Leiataua (Fr)
OLB = Warner (Jr) Takitaki (Jr) Tautu (Sr) Cook (So) Pau'u (So)
MLB = Langi (Sr) Heder (Sr) Amone (So) Niumatalolo (Jr)
Safeties = Nacua (Sr) Hadley (Jr) Preator (Jr) Warner (Fr) Takenaka (Sr) Badger (Sr)
CB = Davis (Sr) Hanneman (Jr) Shelton (So) Lake (Fr) Warner (Fr) Simon (So) Brent (Fr)
Biggest positives I see:
+ Lots of big bodies on the D-line. Sitake and Tuiaki have a great track record of developing D-line talent.
+ Excited about these 3 pass rushers possibly all playing together: Takitaki, Warner, Nacua. These 3 could be used together in really exciting ways to get to the QB.
+ Love the safety talent: Nacua, Hadley, Preator, Warner. Should be a very good 2-deep.
+ Love the depth at corner, should have a quality 3 -deep. Excited to see what Gilford can do with these guys.
