We had to take a short (about 40 min) flight from Shanghai to Beijing for a BYU senior project (so you know it was a budget airline). They began serving breakfast before we took off (scrambled eggs/pancakes and they were good). Then we took off, got to watch a TV show and a drink before landing.
Never had that sort of service from SLC to LAX which is about the same distance.
They don't have a mature workforce (or they don't have the same employment laws as us) so every attendant was a 20-something Chinese gal in a miniskirt....don't get that on Delta either..
Kind of surreal to compare the two airlines..
Granted, you don't get American ex-military as your pilot, so there is that.
