even in the Marriott Center. I've sat in the front rows many times in the student section and we could hear what players on the court were saying, what coaches were saying, etc. Obviously not all the time, but there are definitely times where you can be heard and so can they. The other WCC arenas are a different story. My high school gym literally has a larger gym than the WCC schools I've been to (USD, LMU, and Pepperdine).

Also, I'm not always concerned with just the refs hearing the insults fly, but also the opposing team's fans. Now that I no longer live in Provo, I go to BYU away games. When the home school's fans hear our fans yelling insults throughout the game it really makes us look bad.
