If the auction prices need to come down in oder for them to sell
I think you will see GM make those changes. As for the vehicles being dirty the dealerships will detail the vehicle before the customer takes possession. I am very familiar with the GM certification that extends the b2b warranty. This certification costs the dealerships 500 to 1400 a unit depending on the vehicle. That amount gets passed onto the customer. At our dealership we offer to discount used certified vehicles if the customer does not want the certification.

In the end I think the GM auction vehicles are priced fairly. The auction vehicles come with an extended warranty so they are certified vehicles for the most part.

The other big benefit to the program is that you can see all this inventory in one place instead of having to deal with whatever dealerships has the few you are most interested in. From my own personal experience there are dealerships around that I would never buy from, even if they had the vehicle I wanted.

This program puts more buying power and more choices in the hands of the consumer.
