Compression. Dish does hd lite (at best), which is 1440x1080. Not sure what everyone else does. Then you talk compression. Imo satellite compresses more than cable, less available bandwidth I think. When watching ESPN, it always seemed they have more artifacts (weird blockiness) around the action than when I had Cox cable.
