1% tax on dividends and interest like Tennessee and New Hampshire does is plenty fair. It's not only the rich that have taxes on dividends and interest.
Utah is kind of funny in that local politicians brag and brag about how we are so business friendly and business is growing. Business is growing, but it doesn't have jack-rabbits to do with anything local politicians have done. We have income tax and corporate income tax. The thing that has Utah growing is youngest in the nation population (LDS influence) and the workforce is highly educated and reliable (LDS influence). It's all because the Church and a lot of its members are in Utah.
