Davis is regressing. He doesn't seem to mesh well with the guard oriented offense Rose runs.
My Aggie coworker said Davis's issues at Utah State were that he wanted to be more of the focus on offense, and to shoot outside at times as a stretch 4. Stew told him to stay in the paint until he could hit his FTs more than 70%. Davis and his dad decided to take his talents elsewhere....just like he did previously at SUU. Not only this but he led somewhat of an uprising amongst the players and 4 other players left with him.
You'll notice to start the year Davis did try and shoot from outside more and actually hit 50% threes. But he's once again been stuck almost exclusively in the paint and is even playing the 5 spot. I wonder if this bothers him.
