The problem with how Emery played tonight is that on nights he doesn't hit 11 of 13 from the field, the game outcome could be very different. Any team would be very difficult to beat if a player goes off for 10 3s and 11 of 13 from the field.

But I wish Emery would be more patient and focus more on hitting open teammates than jacking up early-shot-clock, contested 3s. On nights when you're not hitting them you might end up with a game like Pacific.

But I'd be OK (not completely happy, but OK) with Emery's current shot selection if he hit in the mid-to-high 40s on a consistent basis. That would have still made him something like 6 of 13 for 20+ points, which would still be positive for BYU. Against Pacific Emery was 0/6 from 3. If he makes even 2 of those BYU wins.
