College is different than pros. Think jimmer. How did his game translate... Many many players are unbelievable college players and are never great in the pros. Jake locker, Vince young, Matt lineart, Jonny Manzel and even yours truly Ty Detmer. This list goes on and on. Tons of heismans never quite panned out in the NFL. Why??? Certain skill sets are better suited and are more highly effective in college and don't neccessarily translate the same way in the NFL.
Taysom falls into the category of unbelievable college player. I don't give a crap if he sucks in the pros, never gets drafted or was just kept on the team to coach other QB's. The fact remains that he has Heisman caliber talent in college and in my opinion has a higher ceiling in college than Tanner Mangum. Yup, I said it. This will be hard for some to understand. Just because someone's game is suited for the NFL (higher league) doesn't mean he'll be better in college.
I hear so many people say that Tanner has more NFL talent and a higher ceiling for a football career than Taysom. Fine; maybe so but that doesn't make him a better COLLEGE PLAYER. You are comparing manoploly to checkers. We are talking about 2 different types of games here. Certain skill sets do better in college. Taysom is a better college player and has a higher ceiling in college ball than Tanner in my opinion. All I care really care about is COLLEGE football so who gives a crap if Tanner has more NFL talent. I want to win a NCAA championship not the Super Bowl!!!
