The worst air I have ever seen in Utah is during the really bad summer
wildland fire seasons. During those times, it really is smoke that obscures everything, not anything like the moist inverted fog layers in winter.
The obscured smoky air from those fires last just as long as a winter inversion, smell worse and even leave ash all over everything.
