I listened to a podcast once that talked about how he decided not to buy a love seat, but instead spent the $300 on a bottle of scotch that he drank with his dad and son.
He said in the end, he made the right choice. The $300 wasn't for the scotch, it was for the experience he had with his dad and son. They talked, they enjoyed it because it was the three of them trying this really nice scotch together.
The good feeling from the memory/jokes that came from that lasted longer than the joy of having the love seat would have.
My dad, brothers, nephews and I always go to the NCAA tournament OR the WCC tournament every year. I think that money is worth it, because of the experience I have with them. I get closer to them because of the time spent together.
