Consistency or not, Nick is carrying some decent numbers, resembling Jimmer on paper. Not dissing Jimmer or piling unnecessary pressure on Emery. I just think that from what I have seen, he gets more than his share of criticism and blame. Not that he doesn't ask for it or shy from it, either. I just like him, and I am really glad he is on the team.
Also, I watched the entire Pacific loss--twice! I know...truly a masochist. The first time--live--I felt that the team was distinctly better with him on the floor. After hearing all the teeth gnashing, I watched it again to see what I was missing. Emery increased team speed and defensive pressure. Much as I love them, I think the keys that led to loss in that game were less on Emery and more on our two seniors. And I love Kyle and Chase. But they took more than their share of ill-advised shots in traffic and racked up few assists.
Bad games happen. Even to Jimmer. Too bad 9 players were bad the same night...
