I had lots of great options. TAMU, Texas, & Rice were all viable options. But I really wanted a change of scenery. BYU wasn't even on my mind but a good friend I grew up with mentioned I should apply. One day his dad who was my former bishop gave me a ride to work. It was a 15 minute ride but when I got to work I was sold. I had never been to Utah, hadn't really been far from Texas but I was going to BYU. Easily one of the best decisions of my life.
