Great question but so difficult as there are several:
Some had great NFL talent that were true stars in the NFL and others just had great teams:
Florida State - '00 they could have totally destroyed us but Bowden called the dogs off early. To go up by a score of 22-0 their time of possession for those drives was only 1:37, 3.26, 1.02, with a safety thrown in there
Miami - talent wise no question
Penn State - '91
Notre Dame - '93
SMU - '80 James and Dickerson
Georgia - '92 with Hershel Walker
Ohio State - '92
Texas A&M '90
Wyoming - '66, '67 and '73 '67-68 they played in the Sugar Bowl ranked #2 and with the top defense. '73 the day Wyoming kicked off the 14 Black Athletes, Wyoming still destroyed BYU
Hoping BYU can reach and maintain this high level of play. But just as these teams have learned (including BYU) - sports runs in cycles. Teams have great runs and then fall to levels of struggle before returning to having great runs again.
