The kid looked nice in games and his stats are there. But, there must be something else going on. Coach Pope was did not offer him a scholarship to stay at UVU. I also don't think he graduated from UVU so he was actually NOT a Grad transfer. Then I would bet that Coach Rose called Coach Pope to get the 411 on Frey. Something in the due diligence process clearly made the BYU staff believe that Frey was not a fit or could not contribute meaningfully. I trust both Coach Pope and Rose as being smart basketball minds that know what they are doing.
