I posted a question about a BYU player that in fact I highly admire. Unfortunately, on another board a poster made very negative claims about him that I was almost certain could not be true. I asked, on this board, from people who would certainly be in the know, about whether this kid was seriously a bad actor in high school.

From the response I received, the board believes I was trying to harm the kid or the program in some way. I was in no way trying to do that, but I understand how, in these days of very artful cheap shots, my expressed concern could be interpreted as a back door assault on the kid.

I would love to link to the conversation on the other board, where you could see my defense of BYU and the kid. I am afraid to do that because that could be perceived as harming the kid by republishing the original (what I firlmly believe to be) lie about the kid.

I believe my post has been deleted, but I can see several people saw it.

It is so frustrating watching people simply lie about the program. I certainly do not want to perpetuate those lies, and I apologize.

I would ask that no one repeat the kid's name if they choose to respond to this string.
