I was thinking the same thing, BUT, hardly anything can be worse than being on
the same team as Tyreke "angry ball hog" Evans again. I was really scratching my head when he and his agent came up with that landing spot with NOP. That whole year it was obvious that Tyreke totally resented any attention Jimmer got, and tried his best to prevent Jimmer from succeeding, just like he and Cousins had done at Sac, with coaches as willing participants.

However, at least Mike Malone does not have the "potential" of wearing the same shade of race-colored glasses in the same way that some of Jimmer's other coaches seemed to wear them (intentionally, or just because they couldn't help themselves - either way, same result). And, I'm not convinced that Malone treated Jimmer poorly, as he did give Jimmer over 11 mpg that year as a somewhat regular part of the rotation, and Jimmer seemed to have at least a glimmer of a green light when he was in there, as he shot his best percentages that year at Sac, with 48% FG, 49% 3 pt, and 90% FT, essentially leading the NBA in 3 pt % if he'd just had a few more tries. However, Tyreke was also out of the picture that last year, which was a factor, since D. Cousins had less of a cohort with Tyreke gone.

Either way, I think Jimmer felt far more comfortable with Malone's green light than he did with the prior poor-excuse-for-a-coach (Keith Smart), and it showed in the numbers. It's possible that Jimmer's feel for his relationship with Malone at Sac is what is factoring in to his decision to go looking there at Denver now. In the end at Sac, I don't think it was Malone's decision, as he had nothing but good things to say about Jimmer in the departure / separation. I think it was very much an upper mgmt decision, no doubt HEAVILY influenced by the big heavy himself, D. Cousins. In fact, I'm not convinced that anyone in that organization, from the highest up the food chain to the lowest is willing to or able to stand up to D. Cousins. That cancer will continue to drag them down until they stop drinking the poison.

Anyway, if you're still reading Jimmer - WE'RE STILL PULLING FOR YOU! The most fun player to watch - EVER! And even more important, a total class act to go with it.
