it's one thing to want the ideals of a BYU lifestyle, & it's quite another to have the consequences blow up in your face when you fail to live up to those ideals. As an outsider thrust into the Provo brightest part of the spotlight--Ronnie's fall from grace must've been very traumatic & confusing. To expect a guy his age to not respond with anger, hurt & accusation is probably expecting too much.
While many of us weren't all too comfortable with the very controlled locker room & program Bronco ran here, I really admire the man for putting a system in place that was strongly geared to keeping kids--particularly thorough outsiders like Ronnie--from landing tragically hard on their face.
While I hope Kalani can also successfully navigate those boisterous waters, he's got a huge challenge ahead of him--& we've seen little evidence yet that he's got a strong game plan of dealing with it. (This isn't to say that he doesn't indeed have a strong game plan, though. I do sense he's the right kinda guy for getting kids from many different backgrounds safely & happily through BYU.)
