In the history of BYU football, there has never been season by a recently returned RM QB that was anywhere near as productive as Tanner was in 2015. Taysom may have been close in 2012, but injury cut his season short. Of course, it has only been in the past 10-15 years or so that RM QBs have played a significant role at BYU (beginning with Doman in 00-'01). The only other recently returned RMs thrown into the fire that I can recall were John Beck and Matt Berry, and it was a rough start for those guys. It's pretty unbelievable that he did so well last year and that the team had the success it did. He literally prevented what could have been a disastrous year. Looking forward to seeing him develop into one of the all-time greats.
Just some random thoughts to help me get through the dog days of summer.
