Neither UConn or Memphis have any sort of football history to draw from.
At least UConn has a huge basketball tradition and national titles to bring with them.
The last 2 seasons were 2 of Memphis's best seasons in their history, where they went 10-3 (ranked #25)and 9-4 (unranked). To think that a program of that level is being considered for P5 inclusion is almost laughable. And it's not like they are dominant in basketball. They are OK, but the days of John Calipari, Derrick Rose, and Tyreke Evans are long gone.
